I have a 98 D1 with the older ARB RD56 rear locker. My ARB air compressor (RDCKA) leaks differential oil from the air compressor solenoid. I have checked the differential breather and it’s not blocked. From what I can tell on the forums it’s probably a o-ring that needs to be replaced. ARB also has an upgraded seal housing that’s used on the RD128. ARB also has a purge valve that creates a little back pressure to keep the differential fluid from backing up. Then finally, a solenoid exhaust fitting to drain the fluid into a catch can.

So what’s the solution?

Hi all,

I went last Christmas Holidays to Death Valley. There I was introduced to the "Jiggler" siphon. for those of you who don't know it, it is a siphon tube with a marble in one end. you stick the marble end in the liquid you wish to transfer and jiggle it up and down the marble makes suction and the siphon goes.

All the peoples I saw would just run the tube from the can in its mount on the rear or roof or just open a rear window and run it out to the filler. You did not have to lift the can and hold it to the filler while dumping. Way cool!

Now my rig, Ignotus, does not have any external can holder. It will at some point I just haven't figured out which way I want to go.
Nor does it have sliding windows in the rear and I just fitted a fuel filler extender tube.

Not wanting to stand there and dump my fuel(diesel) I decided to make a holder for my NATO can. I dreamed up a folding shelf which hangs on the drip rail. It folds flat and stores inside when not in use.

It can be used for a water can in camp or with a black can a camp shower if you sit under it. It can hang anywhere on the drip rail.

The attached photos show the holder.

I blew out the rear diff on my 04' D2 a few weeks ago. Now, I'm begining to think I have more problems than just the diff. The truck would move (barely) then the transmission would start slipping and I would lose any drive. That's about as much as I moved it before it went on the flatbed and into the shop. It's in the shop waiting on a trutrac to be put in so while it's there I'd like to have them check out any other problems while it's waiting on parts. From doing a little reading up, I think it could be a broken transfer case causing this. What's the best way to check it? It's at a local indy 4x4 shop (trans shop wouldnt replace just the rear chunk) who is more familiar with toyotas than rovers so advice on this would be great

And one more.

I am selling the 4.6 out of my '88 RRC. I found a diesel engine for this truck and so the engine is getting pulled along with the tranny.

This is a monster engine. Was rebuilt in 2007 by the PO and has been running great ever since. It has about 160,000 miles total. Maybe less than 30,000 on rebuild. It is cam'd up so it is not for sale to Cali buyers. Lopey with noticeable separation in exhaust note. Intake trumpets have been cut. I can take a video if some desires.

Dizzy setup with serp belt drive. I will include the front cover, alt and bracket with A/C comp, and power steering bracket.

Tons of power and some of you can attest to this. Loads of torque. Includes header system. I will also include engine harness, and sensors with ECU. As the diesel won't need any of this.

I get 14 mpg with 35 BFG Krawlers and 4.88's, very well maintained using a remote dual oil filtration system and oil cooler plumbed in. Was not daily driven.

$2000 delivered to NC, VA, SC

Gents,

Have a spare 4.6 GEMS motor that I just finished rebuilding. Installed ALL new gaskets, including crucifix's, rear main seal, front main seal, valve seals, new headgaskets and bolts, valve cover seals and more. Thoroughly cleaned entire engine. Cleaning and some surfacing done by local machine shop.

Engine has @120,000 miles. Was pulled from a 1997 P38 that suffered an electrical fire in cabin.

Currently setup to install into a Gems truck. (95-99 P38) or (96-99 D1) Would be extremely easy to convert to dizzy and install into RRC. Swap cams, and front cover and install. I purposely left the front cover off so either can be done.

Includes everything from oil pan up to intake manifold. Fuel injectors, sensors, coil packs, serp water pump, flywheel......

$2500 delivered to anyway in NC, VA, and SC. Will not ship at this time.

Also, have a ZF tranny and an LT230 from a D1. Could be included in deal for additional $500.

Time to let her go.

200 TDI Bobtail Range Rover

This is quite a famous vehicle, It has been in three Land Rover Magazines and on the Cover twice and much discussion has been made online and around the world. It is unique in that it has a 91 inch wheelbase. All Range Rover Classics are 100 Inches. This is nine inches shorter in the wheelbase, and thirteen inches shorter in the rear overhang. The following modifications have been made. Body and chassis modified to give 22 inch overall shorter length. It is now like a Defender 90. Short doors of
a 4 door used in place of the longer original two doors. Welded steel box section sliders as 3rd and 4th chassis rails. 35 inch tires (nearly new) Slider is 26 inches off the ground. Rovertym front and rear caster corrected radius arms. Drilled and vented brake discs. Scorpion Racing coils springs. Gas shocks. Front and rear under body guards. Front and rear Toyota E-lockers. Front and rear hypoid high pinion Toyota Differentials. Custom made rear axles. Rover Trax front axles. Bobby Long lifet
ime Front CV joints. All in Original Rover Axle casings. Rovertym ''A'' arm correction displacement block to rear differential. 4.10 ring gear to correct for larger tires. Land Rover 200 TDi engine with 86,000 miles on it with new timing belt. Land Rover LT-77 five speed manual gearbox out of a 1994 Discovery. LT 230 Transfer Case with stock gearing. Shortened rear double cardan driveshaft is a stock Discovery II Front Driveshaft. Fuel tank mounted on floor in the rear cargo area. Gas cap filler
is electrically operated and is from a 1995 Range Rover mounted into the 72 rear fender. It still maintains the following Range Rover Luxury appointments for confortable offroading. Walnut dash and door cappings. Air Conditioning, Electric windows (front only) a CD player, central locking. Original Land Rover Bronze Green Color with Range Rover interior, but manually adjustable Discovery I front seats. (No troublesome electrics) Intake cooling air scoop on hood. 10,000 lb winch on very Heavy du
ty front bumper. Custom made traditional looking rear bumper. Rear light guards. Custom Roof rack available but not currently mounted. Dual batteries with isolation switches. Internal and external hood latches. I have used it offroad. It has been through the Rubicon about 8 times, but I also wash and wax it and so it is very presentable and can be used as an everyday driver. It has very good Range Rover Road manners and can be driven on the roads anywhere you want to go. It does about 22 MPG on
Diesel and is a five speed and so is more than twice as economical as a gas V8 powered Classic. It is smog exempt because of its age because it is a 1972. No hubs to lock, no reason to get out, Just go into Low, center lock the T case, put in both e-lockers and select first and crawl anywhere you want to go. Excellent engine braking downhill to save brakes and excellent torque to crawl uphill with the TDI. This is a unique vehicle and is offered for sale for about the price of a good 1995 Defender 90. Call me if you have real interest. Mark. 530 306 4648 P.S. I have hundreds of photographs of every modification and every trip and every angle inside and out.
